About Kasey's Closet - Updated October 2024
Welcome! I’m so happy to have you here and honored! My name is Kasey and I’m the owner of Kasey’s Closet - an online boutique operated out of Milwaukee, WI.
My passion for fashion stems from early childhood. My mother, Kathryn, would bring me to NYC on shopping excursions and it would be our bonding time to explore the city and shop until we dropped. My mom was fearless when it came to style and expressing herself. She inspired me to take risks, wear what I wanted to wear despite how loud or crazy it was and to be confident in my style and myself. She empowered me to be...me. She also empowered me to be brave, bold and to go after what I wanted.
Growing up, she would always say "You should open a store called Kasey's Closet!" and I would say "Mom! That is SO cheesy!". But deep down I knew she was right. Maybe we consider changing the name at least :)
In 2016, my mother passed away. Over the next four years I worked on healing myself, but also felt a very strong calling to do something creative again. And the voice kept getting louder and louder. Until one day I created an EIN and filed the necessary business documents to start a "small side hustle". I thought this would scratch the creative itch and all would be good. And heck, why not just name it "Kasey's Closet" :)
And so, in 2020 Kasey's Closet online website was born without a whole lot of planning, or even a proper business plan, HA! I didn't obsess about the details, and I didn't over analyze anything. I was working full time in business development for a local organization, so I didn't put a lot of pressure on this to start. I just leapt and jumped in feet first and just WENT FOR IT! And I truly believe that that is where the magic happened.
And soon thereafter, I started to notice immediate success, and growth. The passion for what I was doing was there and it showed. I knew this was my calling and it slowly transitioned into my full-time job. Really it is a dream come true! You see, it's not just about clothes, fashion and profit for me. I deeply care about helping woman feel GOOD in their skin and in the clothes they are wearing. When you look good, you FEEL good. Helping to build not only closets, but confidence. It is what truly drives me. New customers tend to arrive at my styling sessions tense and unsure, and end up leaving relaxed, confident and with a little extra pep in their step. This job gave and gives me a sense of purpose I was seeking.
I hand select each piece of clothing I provide at vendor shows. My focus is to bring in high-quality clothing that is not only fashionable but comfortable. I want my customers to feel good trying on clothes, not defeated. I make my selections carefully considering a variety of body types and have taken feedback through the years to sharpen my skills to keep bringing in the best of the best and to service as many people as possible. I have styled customers for weddings, funerals, divorce hearings, celebrity weddings, job interviews, work trips, conferences, baby showers, holidays, family photoshoots, corporate photos and vacations just to name a few. It is the true joy of my work to know I am helping you feel your best for life's biggest events.
Today, I run full e-commerce website, work 1:1 with customers via private appointment, host private shopping parties, attend local pop-up events with various businesses in the community and also have rotating inventory permanently at two salon locations in the Greater Milwaukee Area.
A notable feature is that I offer free shipping and it is speedy! If you need an item in a rush, I also offer same day pick up. It is important to me to stand out and offer fast communication and reliable services.
